Visualize Your Future

It’s no secret that your vision can start to look a little blurry as you grow older. Eye changes like these are a natural part of aging and shouldn’t be a significant concern in your life. However, these changes can also introduce the risk of eye disease, which can directly influence your eye health and vision quality as you age.

One of the only ways to monitor these changes as they occur is with regular eye exams. We tailor our eye exams to look for specific issues that can affect your vision, ensuring that you find the right solutions for your needs.

Once we wrap up, we’d be more than happy to help you find your next pair of fabulous frames, matched with everything you need to see and look your best.

When Should You Have an Eye Exam?

How often you have an eye exam depends almost entirely on your particular health situation and eye care needs. Our optometrists can help design a frequency plan for you after you’ve had a couple of eye exams with us.

That said, we commonly recommend patients see us:

  • Once every year if you’re between 18 and 64.
  • Annually if you’re over 65 years old.

What to Expect During the Exam

Every eye exam is different for each person. Whether the exam is for you or your parent, we want to make sure we’re providing unique solutions to address everyone’s specific issues and needs.

To do this, we follow an exam process that we can adapt based on your needs. These steps include:

Chatting About Your Health & Eyes

During the eye exam, we’ll spend a couple of minutes getting to know you, your eyes, and any health issues you have. We’ll confirm your personal and family health history and open up the conversation for you to ask questions or stress concerns.

The information you provide us will help us tailor the exam to you, so please feel free to bring up any information you think is essential to your eye care.

Once we confirm your health history and current eye health, we’ll move on to assessing your visual acuity (which is just a clinical way to say we’ll see how sharp your vision is).

We can do this in several ways, and we have several advanced tests and tools to accurately determine your lens prescription. Each tool we use is comfortable and convenient for the whole family, so there’s no need to worry about stress or pain!

After determining your lens prescription, it’s time to dive into your eye health.

Eye disease screenings are arguably the most important part of the eye exam because many eye diseases, like glaucoma or macular degeneration, can develop without noticeable symptoms. By the time you see a change in your vision, the disease may already be in its advanced stages. And damage caused by eye diseases is often permanent.

At the end of the exam, we’ll provide you with any prescriptions or medications you need to see as clearly as possible and enjoy your eyesight.

We can even take you through our gorgeous selection of designer frames and find a style that matches your look and personality. Our optical team will then fit them for your face to ensure they’re comfortable and secure.
